Get The Facts Before You Buy:

Cut: the finer the cut of a diamond, the more fine and brilliance the diamond will have. A diamond’s cut determines the amount of light to be reflected through the diamond. Brilliance refers to the way the diamond reflects the light and fine refers to the way the light is broken into colors of the spectrum. The finer the cut of the diamond, the more value it will have. There are six popular shapes of diamonds: brilliant ( round ), marquise, pear, emerald, oval and heart.

Color: a diamond acts as a prism and allows light to pass through it effortlessly, creating rainbows of color and sparkle…the finest diamonds are graded “colorless”. It is the color combined with a diamond’s cut which creates its fire and brilliance. At Glyndon Jewelry you’ll find a stunning selection of diamonds of fine quality and color.

Clarity: Inclusions in a diamond interfere with the passage of light through the gem. While this may not affect the beauty of a diamond, it may affect its price. These inclusions may not be easily detectable. For this reason the diamond should be viewed under magnification by a trained eye before you make a purchase. At Glyndon Jewelry, our experienced gemologists carefully examine our diamonds under high magnification so you may make your purchase decision as an informed consumer, with all the facts at hand.

Carat-Weight: The size of a diamond is measured in carats. One carat is divided into 100 “points”, so that a diamond of 75 points weighs .75 carats. Although size is the most integral factor in determining a diamonds value, bigger is not necessarily better. The cut, color and clarity also must be considered in ultimately determining the value if a diamond. At Glyndon Jewelry, we will determine the right carat size for your budget, then make certain that the cut, color and clarity of the diamond meets only the highest standards. Diamonds of fine quality can be found in all size ranges.
